118 Coaxial S/PDIF & AES3 Digital Cable
118 is the third-generation descendant of the original Omniwire coaxial cable first introduced in 1993. Accurate transmission of S/PDIF and AES3 digital audio signals demands tight adherence to the 75 ohm characteristic impedance standard in order to minimize reflections and jitter. The required level of manufacturing precision can only be achieved through careful selection of conductor and dielectric materials, as implemented in 118. Premium gold-plated RCA or BNC connectors incorporate full 360 degree shield coverage, extending the coaxial geometry from tip to tip. Until the arrival of room-temperature super-conductors, 118 will deliver state-of-the-art digital signal transfer at an eminently rational price.

For unsurpassed balanced AES/EBU operation, select BNC > BNC terminated 118 Coaxial Digital Cables plus our impedance-matching transformer package (add $100). This configuration enables transmission of AES/EBU signals nearly 4 times the distance of standard twisted-pair AES/EBU cables, and also facilitates properly terminated cable extensions for use with the short "breakout cables" commonly supplied with professional AES/EBU sound cards (e.g. Lynx, etc...).
